Learn About the Founder of Bold Destinations

Welcome to Bold Destinations. My name is Hannah, and I am the founder of Bold Destinations. I created this blog to help people navigate mental health obstacles while traveling the world. Travel is full of ups and downs, and it can be challenging to find a balance between adventure and life. Thankfully, there is almost always someone who can relate and share how they overcame a similar experience. This blog is designed to share articles that do just that. Through personal experiences, researched strategies and an abundance of resources Bold Destinations is your one-stop destination for all things mental health and travel.

Who is Hannah Latimer-Snell?

Because blogs don’t just create themselves it’s important to pull back the curtains and introduce readers to the person behind the computer screen. I am a native Oregonian who grew up in a Queer household in Eugene, Oregon. At 18 I was diagnosed with an eating disorder that sent me on a wild recovery journey. After months of treatment and a couple of years of extensive therapy, I was finally stable enough to start to travel the world.

My first adventure was a year-long study-abroad trip to Santiago Chile. It was one of the best years of my life and I never looked back. After college, I spent 6 months working on a documentary in Chennai, India and then got to travel around the country for a month. Then in 2019, I decided to spend a year abroad working remotely and spent 6 months in Southeast Asia and 6 months in South America.

After COVID started to slow down I set off on a new adventure to complete my Divemaster Certification in Utila, Honduras followed by 6 months in Mexico. Travel is a huge part of my life but finding the balance between adventure and mental health can be overwhelming. I am currently getting my Master’s in Dance and Movement Therapy and Marriage and Couples Counseling. My hope is that through my own personal and professional experiences I can help readers cultivate balanced mental health while traveling the world.
